Title: Fluid City Today


What has been happening to the city since 『流体都市を構築せよ』was written in 2007? First it is necessary to follow the transformation of a bundle of phenomena around the city, focusing on three tendencies: expansion, infomatization, and precarization. Then the status of the concept “fluid city” is scrutinized in this context and then in relationship with two unprecedented events in 2011: global revolution and the nuclear disaster 3/11. The talk seeks to re-contextualize the city as both the site and force of struggle in the coming world.
