Revisiting Women, the Body, and Primitive Accumulation in a Time of World Revolution.

The historic events that we are witnessing –the continuing economic crisis, the ongoing assault on people’s means of subsistence, now expanding also through most of Europe, the spread of revolutionary insurrections across the planet – all force new questions on the presentation of a book that wants to be politically significant and yet seems to take us back centuries returning to the very origin of capitalist society. What can a text like Caliban and the Witch, discussing women and the body in the transition to capitalism, say today, especially to a South Korea public? Silvia Federici will address this question in a lecture she will broadcast on Sunday December 17, while also discussing the social context that motivated and made possible her research, and the political currents of though that shaped the perspective of the book.
